I am a historian and author.

I have a PhD in History from the University of Melbourne. I research local history around Ashburton and run the Life Stories Writers Group at the Ashburton Community Centre. I am the author of "Atlantic Piracy in the early 19th century: The shocking story of the Morning Star". I also run the blog History of Somali Piracy

I am a member of the Australian Professional Historians Association.
